Moodify ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered playlist generator that integrates with Spotify. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that data. It applies to all users worldwide, including those in the European Union (GDPR), the United States (CCPA/CPRA), and Brazil (LGPD).

When you use Moodify, we collect the following data through Spotify OAuth:

• Spotify user ID — to identify your account
• Email address — provided by Spotify upon login
• Display name — your Spotify display name
• Mood / prompt text — the description you enter to generate a playlist
• Playlist ID and name — the Spotify playlist created by Moodify
• Number of tracks found — metadata about playlist generation
• Timestamp — date and time of each playlist creation

We do not collect passwords, payment information, or listen history.

• To enforce the playlist creation limit per user
• To improve the quality of AI-generated playlists
• To monitor service usage and prevent abuse
• To communicate with you about the service (if applicable)

We do not sell your data to third parties.

For users in the European Economic Area, we process your personal data under the following legal bases (Article 6 GDPR):

• Contractual necessity — processing is required to provide the Moodify service you requested.
• Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in improving our service and preventing abuse, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent — by connecting your Spotify account and using Moodify, you consent to the collection described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Depending on your location, you have the following rights:

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

Moodify uses the following third-party services:

• Spotify — for authentication and playlist creation. Governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your mood description to generate track recommendations. No personally identifiable information is sent to Anthropic — only the mood text you provide. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — our database provider, hosted on AWS infrastructure. Data is stored in the region closest to our server. Governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure storage via Supabase. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Moodify is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Moodify after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
